No. It's the fancy Sonicare. I'm the kind of person whose brain is shut off when I'm going to bed, and given that I have dental issues, something that coaches me in good brushing is well worth it.
The toothbrush is great. The app needs a lot of improvement. A good friend who is a dentist just uses the toothbrush without the app.
FWIW: For years I used the $10 Sonicare that uses AA batteries. Turns out the motor is different and the vibrations are different. (My periodontist can point me to actual academic studies comparing the two toothbrushes.) I can't wait for the patents to run out because a toothbrush like this shouldn't be ultra expensive and rely on an app written by amateurs.
