The whole point is the speed

competitief salaris? Is dat competitief met andere bedrijven op HN? Zet er anders even een echt bedrag bij.

Can they become part of the eurozone without joining the european union?

60B in all stock. So basically “free” assuming cursor leadership believes Elons feverdreams.

I wonder how long until Elon makes everyone believe he founded Cursor.

You're being disingenuous. Tesla employee count, including founders, was 2 (or 3, depending on accounts) at the time that Elon "founded" Tesla. Tesla was a paper company with no assets to its name. In any normal company you would have agreed and negotiated cofounder status when coming into a company with that few employees. I don't think the lack of agreement changes whether someone is effectively a founder or not.

The idea that 2 or 3 founders means the next investor is a founder is total bunk.

It wasn’t a “paper” company because Musk himself valued it in order to get access to their IP and the assets which were the founders themselves.

Apple and Google had 2 founders. No one claims employee 3 or investor 1 is also a co-founder.

They didn't have any IP or assets. He did it because he and JB were already working on doing the same thing and it was better to join forces rather than set up two paper companies competing with each other.

it's going to be renamed to with the x (x agent or whatever) and then there will no mention of the original name Cursor.

They could call it XCode. Oh wait...

Revolut does not have a banking license in the US. At the moment they are a front for another bank. Don't be gullible and believe blindly what the marketing departments tell you.

> Revolut does not have a banking license in the US.

The US is not the entire world.

Revolut has major banking licenses in Europe, UK and Mexico. That doesn't mean it is not bank.

Wells Fargo does not operate in the UK, but it is still a major bank in the US and it is still a bank.

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is a bank in the UK. Just because it doesn't operate in the US, does not mean it isn't a bank.

> Don't be gullible and believe blindly what the marketing departments tell you.

Revolut is still a major bank even if they don't operate in the US (yet).

It works in Europe, which is one of the few advantages we have over the US.

I sometimes wonder what would happen to our other resources if energy was abundant and "free". For example desalination plants running for free could perhaps be used to refill an aquifer.

Of course there are markets and balances in the real world. The idea that energy is always scarce and that we shouldn't produce more than I as an individual need always feels a bit like maintaining scarcity.

often energy storage has a lot of losses in the the conversion. but if you produce 10x of what you need for "free". Would that really matter? I'm sure we will get there at some point.

This is why we have to invest so much more into solar. Any kind of fossil fuel or even nuclear energy is constrained by scarcity.

You put in a natural gas power plant, now you are reliant on someone going out and digging for oil, shipping it back, you burning it, and repeat indefinitely.

I put Nuclear in this group because firstly it’s incredibly expensive to build and operate nuclear plants. And you are still consuming water and fuel, and producing waste. That’s a huge production chain just to keep it operating.

There is scarcity at every step to operate these plants. Scarcity of labor, scarcity of fuel that you’re going to burn, scarcity of water, scarcity of waste storage, scarcity of parts to maintain the plants. There is a limit to how cheap it can get.

With solar, you can buy a panel for cheap, leave it on the grass, and get power for 30 years with practically no maintenance. Even wind or hydro have moving parts to service. For solar, the most you ever have to do is the equivalent of cleaning a window.

There is practically no scarcity. Even if it’s just being able to buy a panel… well, the supply of panels only ever increases. They are increasingly recyclable. They are not consumable, complicated products that you burn up or which break apart in a couple years.

At the point where you have 1 million in revenue you for sure have an accountant even just to do your yearly business taxes. So reporting to Epic just becomes an extra hour of work to make the report.

Or not. I depends on the country and its tax system.

The correct way to deliver notifications is through push notifications. On mobile platforms it will wake up the device, wake up the app and handle the notification. No matter if your app is backgrounded, completely quit or open. It's actually really cool and efficient.

It's the low quality code from whatsapp and meta that's causing the battery usage doing all sorts of bad patterns like like constant outbound requests. So many apps like telegram don't have the same issues and are also just as responsive.

As long as the water that goes in, doesn’t come out. The inital water requirement is fine. What is problematic in most cases is the warm water containing pollutants is just pumped straight into our local waste water systems or rivers.

Wondering what happened in April, around that time layoffs started including at my job. No reason at all aside from “AI” and the C suite wanting larger profits.

April is the start of the second fiscal quarter, so companies had completed Q1 and were doing quarterly earnings reports. The stock market was trending downward all of Q1, so it was probably an attempt to reduce costs to ensure that Q2 would have better numbers for the Q2 earnings reports.
